Who we are
Purzle is run by Purzle Limited, a company registered in Nigeria. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you shop on Purzle, why, who we share it with, and your rights. We process your information under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
Vendors who sell on Purzle receive some of your information to fulfil your orders. They must use it only for that.
What we collect
When you create an account or sign in
- Your email address, and the sign-in codes we send to it.
- If you sign in with Google: the name and email address on your Google account.
When you shop
- Your name, phone number and delivery addresses.
- What you put in your cart and what you order.
- Answers you give for made-to-order products, such as body measurements, colour choices, notes and files you upload. You can save measurements to your account to use again.
- Bookings for services: the day and time you choose.
- Return requests, with the reasons and photos you send.
- For airtime, data and bills: the phone, meter or account number you pay for.
Payments
- Our payment partners (Paystack and Monnify) collect your card or bank details directly. We receive the payment's reference, amount and status, never your full card number.
When you contact us
- What you write to us and the details you give, such as your name, email and phone number.
When you use the site
- Our servers record technical details of requests (such as IP address and browser) in logs that help us keep Purzle secure and working.
Why we use it
- To run your account and sign you in.
- To take payment and get your orders, bookings and bills to you.
- To handle cancellations, returns and refunds, and to help when something goes wrong.
- To send you emails about your account and orders. These aren't marketing and you'll get them while you use Purzle.
- To send our newsletter, only if you subscribe. Every newsletter has a link to unsubscribe.
- To keep Purzle safe: preventing fraud and abuse, and investigating problems.
- To meet our legal obligations, such as keeping records of transactions.
We use your information because we need it to provide the service you asked for, because we have a legitimate interest in running and protecting Purzle, because the law requires it, or, for the newsletter, because you agreed.
Who we share it with
- The vendor you buy from: your name, contact details, delivery address, your order, and any answers or files you gave for it. A vendor only sees orders placed with them.
- Payment partners (Paystack, Monnify) to take and refund payments.
- Airtime, data and bill providers (Reloadly, Monnify) to deliver what you buy.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Our hosting and email providers, who store and send data for us under contract. Some of them store data outside Nigeria; for example, uploaded files are stored in Germany. We only use providers that protect personal data to a standard the law accepts.
- Authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect people from harm or fraud.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers.
Cookies and storage in your browser
We use only what Purzle needs to work:
- Sign-in cookies, which keep you signed in for up to 30 days.
- If you shop without an account, a cart reference stored in your browser so your cart is still there when you come back.
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is open. We keep order and payment records for as long as the law requires for financial records, even after an account is closed. Notifications, sign-in codes and other short-lived data are deleted automatically.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to receive a copy. You can object to how we use it, or withdraw consent where we rely on it (for example, by unsubscribing from the newsletter). Write to privacy@purzle.com and we'll reply within the time the law sets. Some records, such as completed orders, must be kept even if you ask us to delete your account.
If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Keeping it safe
Purzle is served over encrypted connections. Sign-in uses one-time codes, and staff access to customer data is limited by role. No system is perfectly secure: if you think your account has been misused, contact support@purzle.com straight away.
Children
Purzle is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 18 without a parent's or guardian's involvement.
Changes
We'll update this policy when what we collect or how we use it changes, and show the date of the change at the top of this page. For significant changes we'll also tell you by email.
